Why visit Angsana Medical for your mental health concerns?
Whole-Person, Integrated Care
We assess our patients as a whole and individualise treatment to your unique needs. We offer psychiatric medications and counselling at our clinic and psychotherapy modalities with our partners psychologists. We are specially equipped to integrate management of both physical and mental health.
Convenient and Discreet Care in a Family Clinic Setting
Patients may avoid seeking help at psychiatric clinics or mental health centers due to fear of being recognised and the unfortunate social stigma surrounding mental health. For your convenience, our clinic is strategically located at 1 Everton Park – walking distance from Outram Park, Tanjong Pagar and Maxwell MRT stations and the Central Business District. Our branding as a family practice clinic may be less intimidating and means that you can get the help you need without fear of judgement or recognition.
Trained Doctors and Evidence-based Medications and Treatment
Our doctors are experienced in managing mental health concerns, from diagnosis to management. We carry a variety of psychiatric medications including SSRIs, antipsychotics and insomnia medications. As trained Family Physicians, our doctors also consider how your physical health interacts with your mental health.
What to expect at each visit?
True to our holistic and thorough approach to mental health care, each visit typically includes:
A Comprehensive Assessment
We take time to understand your biological, psychological and social factors of health to determine the key mental health and emotional wellbeing challenges you face.
Personalised Care Plan
Management is contextualised to each individual and may include a combination of medications, investigations, practical lifestyle recommendations and referrals to our partners for psychotherapy or counselling. We may need to do basic investigations to rule out physical causes of your symptoms.
Close Monitoring & Continuity
With appropriate check-ins and liaising with our psychology and counselling partners, we will work closely with you to adjust treatment as your needs change and support your long-term mental wellbeing.
When to seek help?
Consider visiting us if emotional symptoms:
– Persist for more than a week
– Affect work, school, relationships or sleep
– Are associated with physical symptoms (fatigue, headaches, appetite changes)
– Feel overwhelming or difficult to manage alone
You may also visit us for general assessment and advice on building mental resilience and healthy relationships.
When to go to the Emergency Department?
Mental health emergencies are just as important as physical ones. You should go immediately to the Emergency Department (A&E) or call 995 if you or someone else is experiencing any of the following::
– Suicidal, self-harm or homicidal thoughts
– Severe symptoms or severe changes in behaviour or thinking
– Significant loss of usual function and inability to look after oneself or dependents
– Behavioural or mood changes after an injury or after consuming drugs
