LucenceINSIGHT™ Cancer Screening
Detect 50 Cancers in One Blood Draw
Cancer is the number one cause of death in Singapore. Approximately 78% of cancer deaths are caused by unscreened cancers – such as liver, stomach, and pancreatic cancer – which often go undetected until it is too late.
At Angsana Medical, we bridge this gap with LucenceINSIGHT™ multi-cancer early detection (MCED) test. Located at 1 Everton Park (an 8-minute walk from Outram Park MRT), our clinic offers this innovative and minimally invasive blood test to help you catch potential issues when they are most treatable. Why Early Cancer Detection Matters
Early-stage cancers are easier to treat and far more likely to be cured. Regular screening is essential because it helps identify problems before symptoms appear.
While traditional screening exists for specific cancers (like breast or colon), many deadly cancers lack routine screening options. LucenceINSIGHT™ changes this by offering a comprehensive look at your health in a single appointment.
What is LucenceINSIGHT™??
LucenceINSIGHT™ is an innovative Multi-Cancer Early Detection (MCED) tool, designed to screen for up to 50 different types of cancer using just one blood draw.
How it Works
Tumors naturally shed genetic material into the bloodstream. This test detects and analyses circulating tumour nucleic acids released from cancer cells, and screens for the signal of up to 50 cancers in 1 blood draw. If a positive signal is found, it can predict the signal’s origin, pinpointing up to two specific areas in the body where the cancer may be located.
How Accurate is it?
LucenceINSIGHT™ is engineered to minimize false alarms while providing actionable data:
- ≈80% sensitivity
- ≈99% detection specificity
- ≈88% Accuracy in Tumour Localisation
Which Cancers can it Detect?
Depending on the tier of test chosen, LucenceINSIGHT™ can be used to test for 5, 7, 12 or 50 cancers.
Who Should Consider Multi-Cancer Screening?
This test is recommended for adults aged 40 and above who are not pregnant and have had no history of cancer in the past 3 years.
It is strongly advised if you have elevated risk factors, such as:
– Family History: Close relatives with cancers (e.g., stomach, lung, breast, or colon).
– Genetic Predisposition: You are a carrier of mutations like BRCA or Lynch syndrome.
– Lifestyle Factors: History of smoking, heavy alcohol consumption, or a sedentary lifestyle.
– Diet: A high-fat, low-fibre diet.
– Environmental Exposure: Frequent exposure to carcinogens like asbestos or coal dust.
– Medical History: Past viral infections (HPV, EBV) or conditions like Type II Diabetes.
Understanding Your Results?

FAQ
Conventional tests measure proteins in the blood, which can be elevated for many non-cancerous reasons. LucenceINSIGHT™ analyses DNA and genetic mutations. This allows it to detect cancer signals earlier, often before the body produces measurable levels of tumour proteins.
The analysis is complex and thorough. It takes approximately 12 to 18 days for your comprehensive report to be ready.
You should not take this test if:
– You are pregnant
– You are currently undergoing cancer treatment or have been in remission for less than 3 years
– You have had surgery, a blood transfusion, or an allogenic bone transplant within the last 2 weeks prior to sample collection
The test itself is a simple blood draw. However, it is vital to understand that LucenceINSIGHT™ is a screening tool, not a diagnostic one. A positive result requires follow-up medical investigation to confirm a diagnosis. As with most tests, there may be false negative results as well.
